The American Dental Association (ADA) has announced the appointment of Nader A. Nadershahi, D.D.S., M.B.A., Ed.D., as the organization’s new executive director. He will officially assume the role on March 23, 2026.
Dr. Nadershahi currently serves as Senior Vice President of Education and Professional Affairs at the ADA. Previously, he was dean of the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, where he led academic and clinical programs for nine years.
Before joining the ADA’s executive leadership in 2025, he also held several leadership positions within organized dentistry, including roles with the American Dental Education Association and the California Dental Association.
ADA President Richard J. Rosato stated that Nadershahi’s appointment reflects the organization’s commitment to strengthening the future of the dental profession and advancing the ADA’s role in education and professional policy.
Founded in 1859, the American Dental Association is the largest professional organization of dentists in the United States and represents more than 159,000 members.
