Invisalign vs. Braces: Which Is Better?
Invisalign and traditional braces are two approaches to orthodontic treatment. Both are designed to correct tooth alignment and certain bite problems, but they use different methods.
Invisalign uses removable transparent aligners that are changed sequentially to produce planned tooth movements. Traditional braces use brackets and orthodontic wires attached to the teeth.
Clear aligners are less noticeable and can be removed for meals and oral hygiene. Braces remain fixed throughout treatment and do not depend on patients remembering to wear them.
Some complex tooth movements may require additional techniques with aligners, while fixed appliances may offer advantages for particular orthodontic problems.
Neither option is universally better. Treatment choice depends on the diagnosis, required movements, oral health, patient preferences, and ability to follow instructions.
An orthodontic examination is necessary to determine which approach is appropriate.
